The national final of the 22nd "21st Century & Coca-Cola Cup" National English Speaking Competition, jointly sponsored by China Daily and Coca-Cola Greater China, concluded successfully at Nanjing University on March 26, 2017. Wu Xiaowen, a junior from the Department of English, won the Second Prize. The topic for this year's final was "Man and Technology: The Brave New World." More than 70 contestants from mainland provinces, Hong Kong and Macao entered the final. 

The "21st Century Cup" National English Speaking Competition is a nation-wide event across universities, middle schools and primary schools. Since its inception in 1996, the contest has become nationally recognized.
